Victor Devil Dash 5K/Family Walk Saturday, September 26, 2026 10:00am 91 Maple Ave Village of Victor Join us in the village of Victor for our annual 5K/Walk to support the Victor Central Schools Educational Foundation. The vision of the foundation is to provide an enhanced experience through increased opportunities that promote educational excellence for the Victor Central Schools community.  Your support will contribute to Field Trips Forever Fund, Technology for Today and Tomorrow Fund, The Art of Teaching Fund, and the General Fund. Come out and join our community in supporting this initiative for our students!  Packet Pick-up is Friday, September 25th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the front steps of the Early Childhood School (ECS) on the Victor Central Schools campus. Pedals for POPs is On My Team16's 5th annual 16-mile bike ride, taking place on September 26th, along the Erie Canal. The ride will start at 10 am, with a post-ride party after. The ride's starting and finishing point will be at Canal Landing Park in Fayetteville, N.Y (120 Limestone Plaza, Fayetteville, N.Y 13066). In addition to the 16-mile bike ride, we have also added a 3K walk / kids bike ride. We have that scheduled to start 30 minutes after the bike riders go off (10:30am). This is another opportunity for those who don't bike to get involved and for kids to get involved!  On My Team16's mission is to comfort and support pediatric oncology patients, families, and caregivers by raising money through athletics. And, with September being Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, we invite you to join us in pedaling for a cause. Each mile of the 16-mile course will be dedicated to a brave child from our community who is currently battling cancer or who has sadly lost their battle with cancer.  Both registrations are $45 per person (kids registrations are $25) and that fee includes event access, course refreshments, a t-shirt, and access to the post-race party with drink & food specials for riders. All funds raised from the event will go back into our community to comfort and support those battling pediatric cancer.  More information on a post-ride celebration will be announced soon!  If you sign up before 9/10, you will get your requested shirt size. Charlie's 5th Annual Memorial Walk A Kickoff to Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 10:00 AM Heritage Park - Mt. The event unites individuals, breaks stigma, and empowers others to seek help.  Crossing the finish line gives a feeling of accomplishment, knowing you have made a difference.  Recovery is possible, and together, we can inspire change. Participants are also encouraged to create a personal fundraiser and start a team to help expand the impact of this event. Fundraising is a meaningful way to honor a loved one, celebrate recovery, support prevention efforts, or advocate for mental health awareness. Teams can bring together family members, friends, coworkers, schools, organizations, or recovery communities to walk or run together in support of hope and healing. One of the region's premier cross country meets, hosted each September by the Baldwinsville Cross Country Booster Club. The race is open to all non-scholastic runners — alumni, family, and friends of the program.  A great race to show you still have what it takes or to experience a cross country race for the first time.

Run or walk your way through Hector's scenic hillside.  You'll weave your way through vineyards and farmland trails while catching glimpses of beautiful Seneca Lake.  It starts at the Valois Logan Hector Volunteer Fire Company and ends at The Oasis at Hazlitt 1852 Vineyard.  This is a fundraising event to help the Hector Area Lions Club better serve our community's needs. The Stars & Stripes Bike-Run-Walk will take place on Sunday, September 27, at the Harland J. Hennessey VFW Post 5538 in Boonville. Proceeds from this event will support Sitrin’s Military Program, which provides comprehensive, complimentary care to post-9/11 veterans and service members. The Stars & Stripes Bike-Run-Walk is open to all ages and offers two exciting bike riding options. One is the Boonville-Forestport Canal Towpath. This ride is for mountain bikes and is easy up to a 20-mile pedal. The other is a 30-mile road bike ride through Boonville, Forestport, Alder Creek, and is for experienced road cyclists. Additionally, there will be a scenic walk around the Erwin Park and a 5K run. Registration for the Bike Rides is at 8 a.m., with the road ride taking off at 8:30 a.m. and the tow path at 8:45 a.m. Registration for the Run & Walk is at 10 a.m., with the runners taking off at 10:30 a.m. and the walkers at 10:45 a.m. Participants who raise $200 or more are eligible to receive an official Stars & Stripes jersey or an embroidered polo shirt. The Little Ones Learning Center, a FREE non-profit early literacy center for children 0-6 is conducting the 2026 Towpath Run, a 6K (3.7 mile) Race/Walk for Literacy, Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026. The race will be run point to point from Alligerville to Accord to raise money for the program. Participants will meet at the Accord Community Center to register from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Runners and walkers will be bussed to Alligerville for the run back to Accord. Walkers will start at 9 a.m., and runners will start at 9:15 a.m.  The race will be run along Towpath Road, a scenic, wooded lane with views of the Catskills, and up the hill from the actual towpath used for ferrying boats along the former D&H Canal.  Accord and Alligerville were stops on the canal. There will be no parking in Alligerville and all runners and walkers will be required to be bussed to the start point from Accord.  Pre-Registration by Sept. 23 - $20,  Sept 24 to Day of Race - $25.  Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each of the following categories: 14 & under, 15-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over, Town of Rochester residents, and walkers. The community center is located a few blocks off Route 209 on County Route 27, about six miles south of the intersection of Routes 209 and 213 in Stone Ridge and about four miles north of the intersection of Routes 44/55 and 209 in Kerhonkson.

The fall classic is back once again this Sunday, September 27th 2026!  This year we are running over 50 years strong.  Join the Utica Roadrunners in downtown Utica at the State Office Building for the 5k or the scenic switchbacks 14k.  We have a kid's run too!  Please join us for the post-race party and awards ceremony at DoubleTree by Hilton Utica. Course Descriptions: The 5k course starts on a light incline for the first half mile. TURN RIGHT at the traffic circle to continue on to the 5k.  The course then flattens out for the rest of the mile (mile 1 is near the corner of Oswego St.). The start of the second mile inclines slightly and finishes flat. The remaining 1.1 mile is pretty much the first mile in reverse. The 14k course starts out the same as the 5k, on a light incline for the first half mile. TURN LEFT at the traffic circle to continue on the 14k. The course then flattens out for the rest of the mile. Mile two continues up a slight incline and starts up a slightly tougher incline up the Parkway. Mile three works it's way up Valley View and into the park. The next three miles are the scenic but challenging switchbacks and park roads. The next mile is mostly downhill. The rest of the race is the more casual downhill of Oneida and Genesee Streets with a fast finish. See you at the start line!

Join us at Kissing Bridge for a 12 hour Backyard Ultra format with a twist.   Runners will run a 3 mile hilly trail looped course every hour on the hour. Take as long as you need, but be ready to start your next loop at the start of the next hour on the race clock.   For example, if it takes you 50 minutes to run your loop, you get a 10 minute break to fuel and rest before you start your next loop. This hourly format will continue for 11 hours. Race as long as you choose or until you are timed out for the next hourly loop.   Those runners still standing after 11 hours will “race” the 12th hour to determine the Summit Survivor Winning title.

Medal for the Red Kettle - Thompson Park - Watertown NY - 10/3/26   This will be the first Salvation Army run and hopefully an annual event! It is KID friendly - there is a fun run for kids to get a medal and enjoy the fall day! Running and walking are acceptable. All finishers will receive a medal. There will be apple cider, apples and water at the finish line. Along the course there will be an aid-station about halfway.    Packet Pickup: October 2 from 12-4pm at the Salvation Army on State St (723 State St. Watertown NY 13601) inside the building from the State Street entrance. Maggie lee was a counselor at the Epilepsy Association of WNY, a community activist, a friend and she had Epilepsy. In June of 2001 she died suddenly as a result of injuries sustained during a seizure. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder resulting in recurring seizures. Epilepsy affects one out of every 100 persons living in WNY.  Proceeds from the event help to support the outreach, awareness and education programs of the Epilepsy Association of WNY. The mission of the Epilepsy Association of WNY is to enable people living with Epilepsy to lead more independent, productive and satisfying lives.

With the famous  NYC Marathon right around the corner come test those legs and see just how well your form is coming along.  This flat and fast course along the Shore Road Promenade in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn is perfect for setting those PRs.  It offers some of the city’s most breathtaking views of the Verrazano Bridge, Lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.   Trimara Sports 7 Week Training Guide Bib pick up will be held exclusively on race day and will be from 6:30 until 7:30.  Please do not wait until the last minute so that we can be sure we start the race on time.  Come early, get your race day materials and have plenty of time for your pre race warm ups and routines.  Baggage check will be located adjacent to bib pickup.    The #BayRidgeHalf will be a spectator friendly multi-loop course along one of NYC’s finest waterfronts.  You will be completing three 4.36 mile loops of the Shore Road Promenade in Bay Ridge.  You will have fluid stations roughly every mile so there is plenty of opportunity to stay hydrated. The finish line will be back at the American Veterans Memorial Pier where you can collect your FINISHER MEDALS and bask in your accomplishments – It is impossible to get lost.  The course support will remain open for 3 hours. After you all kick butt in the half marathon and collect your FINISHER MEDALS we will provide bagels, chips, cookies and water at the finish line. Sixth Annual Wenzel Memorial 5K East Gym This event, in memory of Gregg Wenzel ’91, will consist of a 5K run/walk around campus. The 5K is open to all. Wenzel was a triathlete and former student-athlete at Binghamton who competed on the men’s varsity swimming and diving team. He was killed in a car accident in July 2003 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he was working as a CIA director of operations. Race check-in and on-site registration will take place at the East Gym. The run/walk will start and end at the East Gym on Recreation drive.  T shirts for participants who register on-line by 9/14/26 at 12:00PM. The Race for ChildRUN is a fundraiser for The Children's Center located on the SUNY Morrisville Campus.  It's a family friendly event that offers a challenging 5K race option with a fun 1 Mile run/walk option for participants of all ages.  The event is sponsored by local businesses, and all proceeds benefit the child care tuition scholarships at The Center.  Event begins at 8:30 am with registration open at 8 am.  Runners will receive an entry number and refreshments.  Awards are presented to the top finishers in all age groups and an overall winner.  The Children's Center is Madison County's only licensed and nationally accredited Early Care and Learning Program.  The Center offers programming that stimulates the minds of young children while building a foundation of learning through play.

The Monroe Miles 5K Walk/Run is an annual staple of Monroe University’s Homecoming celebration, bringing together students, alumni, faculty, staff, families, community members and friends for a morning of fitness and community. The 5K begins at 434 Main Street in New Rochelle. Whether walking or running, participants of all fitness levels are welcome to take part. The River Run for the Roots is an annual 5K run/walk from the Common Roots Brewery to benefit its nonprofit, the Common Roots Foundation. This looped course starts and finishes in the Park & Ride lot behind Common Roots at 58 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, NY. The scenic course winds through the village of South Glens Falls, including the Betar Byway along the Hudson River. About a half mile of the course ventures onto a gravel path (the SGF Beach Bikeway) while the rest is paved.  As in past years, this race is a fundraiser for the Common Roots Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that aims to sustain and improve the quality of life in northeastern New York. The Foundation supports local efforts in the areas of community wellness, environmental stewardship, and assisting those in times of need. This late-season event attracts casual and elite canoe, kayak, SUP, and surf-ski paddlers. Enjoy the first touch of fall with a cheerful end of season paddling event! The canal course follows the lush, gently flowing Seneca-Cayuga canal, which is about 40 yards wide. Experienced paddlers may opt for a challenging open water course on Seneca Lake instead of the canal course.

ABOUT THE RIDE - Registration opens soon. The EA2EVL Fondo is a non-competitive charity ride for cyclists of all skill levels. The ride will start in East Aurora at 42 North Brewery and travel south down scenic Route 240, riding parallel to the ECRT trail from West Falls into Concord. With water stops along the way, the course continues south to the intersection of Route 242, where it heads west into town of Ellicottville, culminating at a finish line party at the Holiday Valley, which is open to the public.  This charity ride will raise funds for the 27-mile Erie Cattaraugus Rail Trail (ECRT) that runs from Orchard Park to Ashford, NY. TIMES 10 AM: Fondo start at 42 North Brewing Company (25 Pine Street, East Aurora, NY) 1 – 4 PM: Apres Bike Party with craft beer, food, vendors, chair lift rides and the lively tunes of Never Ben. Athletes enjoy this course for its beauty and small-town atmosphere. Montauk is a quaint fishing and surfing town on the easternmost tip of Long Island. The town is known for its natural beauty and sports enthusiastic visitors.  Montauk is one of the birthplaces of triathlon. The sport is growing and athletes want to challenge themselves with longer events. There are few metro area triathlons of this distance. In addition to providing a venue for the athletes, this event will showcase Montauk at a time when the weather is still nice but the summer crowds are not as heavy. This is a great family weekend to spend on the east end with the Olympic and Sprint triathlons both taking place on Sunday.

We are back for another round of 4 in the Forest! Join us on Sunday, October 4th for 4 miles of beautiful (and challenging) trail running at the Irvington Woods Trails system.  Race starts at 9a.m., and is a rain or shine event! The race starts and finishes at the Irvington High School campus.

The Shawangunk Runners, in conjunction with the Wallkill Valley Land Trust, present the Rosendale Runs Half Marathon. Come experience breathtaking scenic views around every bend amid the fall foliage. A mostly flat course that is 93% on an unpaved but well-groomed section of the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail with two short sojourns off the rail trail to add a little spice and provide just enough challenge to offer a sense of accomplishment.​ The Town of Rosendale, in upstate New York, just 90 miles from NYC, provides a beautiful venue for its 12th Half Marathon. Come visit the charming and quirky Village of Rosendale, once the home of the world-famous Rosendale Cement Company and now a thriving center of the arts.  Run across the trail that made the National Rails to Trails Conservancy’s top ten list of most “iconic rail trails”. You will cross over the 146-year-old historic Rosendale Trestle bridge, sitting 150 feet above and extending 900 feet across the Rondout Creek. When it opened in 1872, it was the highest-span bridge in the United States. The race will take you along scenic lakes and through a "cave" at the Williams Lake Project. Come experience the dramatic scenery of the enchanting town of Rosendale, which helped build the Brooklyn Bridge with its natural limestone cement. All proceeds go to the Wallkill Valley Land Trust, whose mission is to improve, protect, and maintain the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail for public use and enjoyment. The event has a cap of 300 starters.  Online registration is $30 for the half marathon and $25 for the 6K run/walk. The half marathon has a cutoff of three hours and fifteen minutes.   T-shirts are guaranteed to all who register by September 13. Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.  High School: We also welcome our high school runners! Our high school students will be running a 2 mile race.  Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.  Single Day Racing: Single day registration opens 1 hour before each race and must be completed onsite. Come join us at the Genesee County Park & Forest Sunday on October 4, 2026 for the 14th annual Run for the ACORNS 5K run/walk or 10K run   The courses are on single and double track trails through the forest, along a creek and up and down rolling hills in the Genesee County Park & Forest, with an estimated 100 feet of climb in the 10K loop. Trails are very wide and easy to negotiate (rocks and roots are clearly marked for safety). The courses start on asphalt and then lead into the woods for a truly beautiful run through the countryside.   All proceeds benefit ACORNS, a non-profit 501(c)(3) "friends of the park" group that supports the Genesee County parks by connecting people with nature through outdoor learning, education and fun, and ACORNS will donate a portion of the proceeds to support breast cancer research.

While visitors can reach the building’s Observatory via elevator in under one minute, the fastest runners have covered the 86 floors by foot in about 10 minutes. Leaders in the sport of professional tower-running converge at the Empire State Building in what some consider the ultimate test of endurance.

Everyone, We are proud to announce a collaboration on a new charitable 5k, The Sonnenberg Gardens 5k Classic, presented by Peacemaker Running Group! This race will be held entirely within the grounds of Sonnenberg Gardens on October 9th, 2026, at 6:30 pm. The goal of this race is to celebrate our community, physical activity, Canandaigua, and especially Sonnenberg Gardens. This is a non-profit event: all revenue will go towards the logistical costs of the race and Sonnenberg Gardens, with a minimum of 25% of your registration donated to Sonnenberg Gardens. This is an inaugural race, and as such, we hope to use it as a prototype to gauge interest and optimize the course and proceedings for future events. This event is made possible by Sonnenberg Gardens and our organizing partners: Peacemaker Brewing Company and Rio Tomatlan. Race The race itself is a 1-mile loop contained entirely within Sonnenberg Gardens. The route will take runners through the gardens and around the mansion. The race will begin promptly at 6:00 pm; runners are encouraged to bring headlamps if they expect to finish after the sun sets at approximately 6:45 pm. The course route will be marked by flags. The event will not be electronically timed. Prizes will be awarded to the top male, top female, and top finisher under 18 years old. The mission is to exhibit examples of the history and heritage of firefighting, preserve unique examples of apparatus, to showcase the supporting fire associations and to provide a memorial to all who have answered their last alarm.

For more than ten years, the Sitrin Health Care Center’s Annual Stars & Stripes Run & Walk for our Nation’s Heroes has served as the primary fundraiser for Sitrin’s Military Program. This unique program provides comprehensive, complimentary care to post-9/11 veterans and service members affected by post-traumatic stress, suicidal ideations, traumatic brain injuries, depression, and other combat-related conditions. In addition to innovative treatment, Sitrin offers the Military Civilian Coalition, designed to promote camaraderie, advocacy, educational opportunities, and transitional support to civilian life. The group meets at various locations in the community and enables veterans and civilians to interact through social and athletic endeavors. Activities include the annual Warrior Retreat at Camp Sitrin, TRX Suspension Training, golf, fly fishing, gardening, yoga, biking, therapeutic hand drumming, and more. With a continued focus on supporting veterans and service members, Sitrin is excited to continue this event every year to support local veteran care!  The 4th Annual Riggie Run, Walk & Riggiefest will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the SUNY Polytechnic Institute campus, and will feature a 5K Run, 5K Riggie Challenge, 5K Wheelchair Race, 5K Wheelchair Riggie Challenge, 2-Mile Walk, and a 1-Mile Kids Run. Bottle Rocket Beer Reserve Beer Mile October 11th, 2026 2182 Seneca St Buffalo, NY 14210   The beer mile is a 1-mile drinking event combining running and speed drinking. The event will take place on a 1/4-mile course in the parking lots and streets surrounding Bottle Rocket Beer Reserve. It begins with the consumption of a 12-US-fluid-ounce beer, followed by a full lap of the course. Repeat for a total of 4 laps.   The event is limited to a total of 90 participants.  There will be 3 heats of 30 each @ 10:00am, 10:30am and 11:00am. GRRC is again offering an autumn potluck. This time we're at Powderhorn Lodge at Powder Mills Park in Pittsford. Potluck Directions! This year, the theme is soup and salad! GRRC is providing tossed salad and all the paper plates, bowls, napkins, and utensils. The president is making turkey chili.  Please bring a soup, salad, side, dessert, snacks, or drinks. As we get closer, we'll likely have a potluck link for food so we don't have seven chilis, one tomato soup, a dozen cookies, and no drinks. The Annual Sunshine Camp Trail Mix is a 5K trail race that supports children and young adults with disabilities who take advantage of Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp, a fully accessible summer camp in Rush, N.Y. This fun-filled event will provide an exclusive opportunity to see some of the 157 acres of this private camp — through a mix of paved sidewalks and natural dirt trails. Most questions are answered here including: How it Works What You Get Discount Offers and Referrals Awards Sponsors Additional Details How It Works Fixed time races allow walkers and runners to traverse a loop, circuit, or other route that brings them back to a given start point repeatedly throughout the time allotted. Many allow you to stop during the race, leave the course, and return to do more miles. Some even allow you to start later than the official race start time. Most let you stop whenever you want and have whatever mileage you completed as of the last time through the start stand as your finish distance, even if that's only once through. Typically, your distance is calculated by multiplying the number of times you finished the route by the distance of the route as determined by the race director or other official. That means if your watch shows you did 39.77 miles, but you did 19 laps on a 2.06-mile course, then you will be recorded as having 39.14 miles. What That Means for Distance  Our course is 2.06 miles long (1.03 out and another 1.03 back) along the paved Lake Ontario State Parkway Trail in Greece. To be considered a finisher, you must finish at least one out-and-back lap. Do as many laps as you want within the 12-hour time limit. Only completed laps count. When/Where to Race, Packet Details & Food Parking: Park on the wide shoulder on Island Cottage Road. The race takes place on the Lake Ontario State Parkway Trail from Island Cottage Road to Dewey Avenue. The race starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, and ends at 5 a.m. on Sunday, October 18.  Late Night Munchies: Racers will have an all-night aid station. At registration, you'll have choices about dietary specifications. If you make no choices, we'll default to a traditional, unrestricted diet. If you choose contradictory things (vegan and traditional, for example), we'll default to traditional. Sample items include English Muffin or Mini Tortilla Pizzas, instant coffee, cookies, Gatorade, and cracker sandwiches.  Check-in/Packet Pick-up: Packets will be available 4 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. and will include the race bib and some goodies for race night. You can show up after 4:45 p.m., but you will not be able to start until the race director can stop what she's doing and check you in. Optional space to set up your own aid station or tent. You may consider staying until sunrise although the event is over at 5 a.m. Teams (Groups) Teams are groups of four or more people who each do as much as they can throughout the 12-hour limit. (It's not a relay. Perhaps in the future, if there's enough interest and I can wrangle timing help.) Teams must be registered by 9/30 to be guaranteed team tokens or prizes as we have to order and/or create them. Discount Offers & Referrals Being Part of a Team Teams with four or more members get discounted registration. The first three people pay the price in effect for the race (Ex. $200). When the fourth person registers, that person pays the team rate (Ex. $190) and the first three people get a partial refund (Ex. $10). The fifth, sixth, and seventh members pay the same team rate as the fourth person (Ex. $190). However, when an eighth person joins, that person pays a new, lower rate (Ex. $175), triggering a partial refund to the first seven members ($15). In that way, the entire team would have paid the same price per person after all team discounts have been triggered, excluding any coupons or other discounts individual registrants might have had (Ex. $175 instead of $200). There are no further discounts for additional members.  Being in a Club If you are a member of any club with a presence on RunSignUp (ex. GRRC, Fleet Feet Race Team, Medved, or Obatron Race Team), you get a discount at checkout for that. If you join a team within this race at registration, you get partial refunds when you get to enough people (detailed earlier in this section). Referrals You may earn back some of your registration by having other racers use your personal referral link, generated after you register. See the "Referrals" section for more information. Caveats While club and team discounts, coupons, and referral rebates may be combined, there is a discount floor to ensure we are fiscally responsible with our pricing. For example, if you could get a total of $11 off a race that only costs $16 to begin with and our floor is $10, you would pay $10, not $5 ($16-11). Awards Overall Performance: There will be a small token of placement for the top three highest overall finishers, irrespective of gender.  Teams: If there are three or more teams formed, there will be a small bonus prize for members of the most active group in the Earned Extras challenges. Thank you for participating in the National MPS Society Run/Walk, and Post Office Cafe's 35th Annual 5K & 1K Fun Run. This event will raise awareness and funds for the National MPS Society. In our community, the Walk/Run will be held at the Post Office Cafe in celebration of Mark and Casey Lessing. In 2010, Mark lost his 20 year battle with the disorder MPS IIIA. His sister Casey passed away July, 2016 at the age of 24. MPS and related diseases are genetic disorders that affect major organs in the body, including the respiratory system, heart, bones, and nervous system. Affecting mostly children, it is caused by the body's inability to produce certain enzymes. There are hundreds of children around the country waiting for a treatment and eventually a cure for these rare, progressive, and deadly diseases. The National MPS Society's mission is to provide support for individuals and their families affected by MPS or ML. Our goals are to increase public and professional awareness and to support research. The Society's ultimate goal is to find a cure for MPS disorders.

October is domestic violence awareness month, and we're calling all racers, walkers, and fun runners to join us for the second annual Run for the Coven 5k to benefit Wellspring in Saratoga. Festivities begin with a 1/4 mile fun run for racers of all ages, followed by a scenic 5k race around the iconic Saratoga Spa State Park. T shirts available for registrants while supplies last. The Happy Jack 5K is an annual, family-friendly walk/run honoring the life of our son, John Thomas “Happy Jack” Doyle. All proceeds benefit The Happy Jack Fund, which provides annual scholarships to high school students who have lost a sibling, while also supporting families navigating the loss of a child. The race takes place in West Nyack, NY, and is an officially timed, out-and-back course beginning and ending at Germonds Park. Traffic along the course is safely managed by the Clarkstown Police Department. Prior to the main event, we also host a kids’ fun run open to all ages. Follow Lyncrest to the end making a right onto Shetland Drive, taking that to the end and make a right onto Teakwood Lane (turns into Stratford Place). Take that to the end and make a right onto Jolen Drive and then a left onto Whitewood Drive. This will take you back out to Germonds Road where you turn left and then a quick right and follow it back to the park where the finish line is located.  Walkers will follow the same route (behind the runners) and once on Lyncrest you make a right onto Jolen Drive and then a right onto Whitewood Drive.  The race course is clearly marked with signs and will also have our volunteers there to direct and support you. The Maddie's Mark Foundation was developed to provide Best Day Evers to seriously and terminally ill children in the local area. Not only does Gavin Park offer a myriad of youth activities such as an After School Program and Summer Day Camp, sports programs for baseball, soccer, basketball, pickleball and coaches’ clinics, and family celebrations like the Holiday Tree lighting and Community Day, and also hosts several regional athletic tournaments and events that bring thousands of people to the area who frequent local shops, restaurants and hotels. Sidney Sabers and SSADD (Sidney Students Against Destructive Decisions) will be hosting our 8th annual 5k walk/run and 10K run. Runners competing in the 10k will run the same course twice. The race will start at 1:00 on 10/18/2026. ALL proceeds will go to Sidney’s Delaware Valley Humane Society, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and SSADD. Malverne 5K Run-Walk The Malverne 5K run-walk for education is organized by the Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation (MEFF). The net proceeds of the 5K run go to the MEFF, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that supports youth programs within the Malverne school district. The packet pickup and day-of-run registration take place at Malverne High School, starting at 7:30 a.m. (school located east of Ocean Ave.). Hunt Hollow Ski Club and Medved are partnering again for the third running of the Colorfest 5k, a unique and challenging course open to all, benefiting our volunteer Ski Patrol. The 5k+ event features elevation gains and losses and breathtaking views as you summit and descend Hunt Hollow.  Not up for big elevation? We are offering a 3.1k fun run that follows the xc ski trails at Hunt Hollow.  The terrain and atmosphere of Hunt Hollow make it a truly unique experience for runners, walkers, and hikers. The Malta 5k Trail Race course begins at the Luther Forest Tech Campus soccer fields and quickly enters some of the best maintained trails in the area at 100 Acre Woods.   Most of the course is covered in stone dust and 6' wide. Run, Walk or Soar with us for the 6th annual Hopson Trail Runs- Give Cancer the Bird. Located in the Hamlet of Honeoye, you will experience beautiful fall foliage throughout the entire course without the annoyance of vehicle traffic. There are two distances available, the traditional 5K and the only 9K in New York! You may have to dodge a few rabbits or squirrels or yield to a fairy or two in Hopson's Forest! The majority of the course is a combination of wide grassy trails through WoodsEdge Retreat and established trails through Sandy Bottom Park. If we’re lucky, our pair of resident Bald Eagles will guide the way. This year's beneficiary will be Embrace Your Sisters. Their Mission is to provide support and hope to people in our communities struggling with Breast Cancer through financial assistance, education and informational resources. Event is timed by Robinhood Racing Post race event at Birdhouse Brewery located across the street from the start /finish line. Post race event to include live music, a complementary pint of Birdhouse beer and a good time with friends and family. Our friends from Dainty Donuts will be back again this year! Join your fellow ghouls and goblins for a spooky hunt at DeWolf Brewing in Victor. Friends from Saucony will be on hand with prizes and demo gear for you to try out. The Game The spooky hunt is a course with checkpoints and challenges. There will be plenty of bat and pumpkin-shaped nonsense to keep things interesting. Team Up or Go Solo If you are a solo player, you can join any team you want or select the Free Agent team. All players must register to participate. This year's spooky hunt is a great way to meet new people and make new running friends! Teams will fill up fast, so if you and your friends want to run together, you all need to sign up for the same team to secure your spots. Council Member Shahana Hanif and the PTAs of Brooklyn’s public schools are coming together for the 17th annual PTA 5K+ run/walk/stroll/toddle/scoot in Prospect Park. The race will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 10 AM. Bib pickup and pre-race activities will begin at 9:00 AM.  For over a decade now, the PTA Fun Run has been a community day in Prospect Park for local public school communities. Parents, students, and educators have showed up to build community have collectively raised funds for our neediest schools (Net proceeds from your registration fees will go to support PTAs at high need schools). The Fun Run will be a 3.3 mile loop, starting and finishing on the main park drive just outside the LeFrak Center. The run will start at 10 AM. The Boolermaker Kid's Run presented by GPO Federal Credit Union & supported by Hannaford is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026! Run the Race...Stop the Stigma!   Summer Smith was a loving mother of three boys who lost her 12-year battle with addiction on January 9th, 2015.   Summer's mom Kristin has established this race in her memory. Summer desired to live a life in recovery and fought hard to overcome the disease of addiction.  The 10th Annual Summer Smith 5k Addiction Awareness Memorial Run is an event that will be held on October 24th, 2026, at Guilderland High School in Guilderland Center, New York. This event will be a fundraiser for SOAR but open to the public and any ages.  There will be a 2 hour time limit for everyone to run as many laps as they can in that time - rain or shine! We will have four different trails so you can choose your lap distance.  When you register you will get one ticket to our raffle baskets.  During the race for each lap you complete you will get a ticket to put toward the raffle baskets and also some other treats along the way. FALL Run the Farm is a 5 mile trail race to be held at Muscoot Farm in Katonah/Somers, NY on October 25, 2026.  (There is also an upcoming SPRING running of this race on May 23, 2027 - sign up for that race here: https://runsignup.com/muscootspring - you can also sign up for both at the same time and save when you bundle both races!) Race start times: -8:30AM Kids race #1 (Age 7-12) -8:45AM Kids race #2 (Age 6 & under) Note: Kids Race #1 will be finished before Kids Race #2 gets underway. -9:30AM Run The Farm Note - kids ages are calculated as of the day of the race Oct 25th. So if your child turns 7 on Oct 25th they will run in Race #1. See Logistics information for Kids Run The Farm and Run The Farm. Arrive at least 30 minutes before race start to park, get race bib, pick up shirt (if ordered), and get oriented and warmed up! At the end of the races, participants get "Farm Bucks" to spend in the Farmer's Market. The race is put on to show off the beauty of the Muscoot park and to increase awareness of the weekly Muscoot Farmer's market (Sundays from May-November) and other local farmer's markets in the area. T-shirts are optional. We recommend purchasing shirts in advance since we have to order in advance and have run out of certain sizes on race day.  There are No Dogs ever allowed at Muscoot Farm. The farm is has many resident animals that are spooked by dogs of all sizes. This means dogs cannot run in the race. Service dogs who are trained to perform a task are permitted by the ADA. The RCK PTSA will be sponsoring the 1st Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Run/Walk on Sunday, October 25th at 10am at Roy C Ketcham High School. The 5k course will begin and end at Ketcham High School with a scenic loop that goes around Lake Oniad. Pre-registration entry fee is $25, which incudes commemorative t-shirt. Anyone who registers on the day of the race will be charged $30 and will not receive the t-shirt. There will be extra t-shirts available for purchase the day of the run. Your entry will include pre and post-race snacks. Awards will be presented the top 3 overall males and female winners. The timing company will be Mid-Hudson Timing.

Get ready to hit the park and have some fun! The Bike the Park youth bike race is a family-friendly event designed for kids and teens ages 4 to 16 who want to enjoy biking outdoors on scenic grounds at Bedford Village Memorial Park. Distance will be based on age: Ages 4-5 - One Mile Bike - 2 loops on course Ages 6-16 - Two Mile Bike - 4 loops on course The bike course is easy to follow and perfect for beginners and young athletes looking to try something new. Whether your child is racing for time or just enjoying the fresh air and movement, this event is a great way to build confidence, stay active, and have fun in a supportive, positive environment. Check-in is open from 8 AM until 8:45 AM   Participants should be at the start by 8:45 AM Race will start at 9 AM Athletes must have their own bicycle in good working condition - NO SCOOTERS, TRAINING WHEELS OR E-BIKES. Balance bikes are permitted.  Come bike, explore, and enjoy the park!

Join Friends of The Kensico Cemetery for a 5K Run and 1.7-mile Walk through scenic paths adorned with fall foliage, lakes, and stunning architecture.  Enjoy a catered breakfast, exciting raffle prizes, and great camaraderie on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at The Kensico Cemetery & Arboretum. This charity event will benefit two impactful organizations dedicated to fostering community engagement:  The Westchester Fund for Historic & Cultural Preservation and Friends of The Kensico Cemetery.

Sunday, October 25, 2025 - Spooky Sprint 1pm start & 5k 1:15 pm start Begins near the front of the Cazenovia High School, 31 Emory Ave, Cazenovia NY 13035 The Spooky Sprint is an 800-meter (1/2 mile) run/walk for kids, at any age, and begins before the Pumpkin Run around the Green near registration. This is free for kids. Halloween costumes are encouraged! Spooky Sprinters may pre-register.  The 5K Pumpkin Run starts at the High School, heading East on Nickerson Street and then South on Lincklaen Street. After turning right onto Seminary Street, the route then turns north winding through the village and town ending back in front of the Middle School. It follows the same basic path as the legendary Chilly Chili Run! 5K Cost: $30 (Includes T-shirt for pre-registrations by October 17th).  Extra t-shirts can be purchased on the Day of the race (Limited supply available).

6th Annual Book It! 5K to benefit Parish Public Library   We had so much fun last year that we're bringing back the Halloween-themed Costume Run! Race Registration (run/walk): $25/person through 10/11  ($30/person after that date) plus processing fee Race (run/walk) starts: 10 a.m. Sign-in begins: 9 a.m. at Parish Fire Dept. Walker Scholarship at Mount Saint Mary College Cheryl Walker MS, RN, ACNS-BC, CWCN was a devoted nurse for almost forty years when she passed away from lung cancer in January 2016. All proceeds will support Cheryl Walker's Nursing Scholarship. Her family started this nursing scholarship in her name to honor her memory, and to pay forward to the profession she loved so much. She worked in multiple areas of the field, and was very esteemed and highly regarded by colleagues in each. In her free time, she loved to run, hike, spend time with her tight-knit family and, walk her beloved dogs.
